Notes from the editor
Johnny and I went to Ruby's last week , I wanted to get a head start on planting my new hostas. This was our first visit, and what a treat it was. Ruby had picked out some of the hostas to sell at Bachman Garden and Art Expo this Friday, I was (kinda helping) ,but I spent more time choosing hostas for myself, I purchased five minis and four large hostas, I wanted to get a head start on the summer drought so the hostas could get established. (This what I told Johnny)
Ruby's gardens are expansive, she has lots of room to show off her plants. There are many display beds. Some of the beds are shady and some are sunny, there is one shady area that is laid out in pathways, Ruby has filled this area with shade loving plants not only in the ground but also in containers. I came away with a few good ideas. I told Ruby I would give her the credit, when I received the praises on how imaginative I am.

Roseanne Kaylor brought in a lovely hosta to be auctioned at the April meeting, she donated the winnings, $25, to the Hosta Society. Thank you, Roseanne for being so thoughtful.
